Perinatal Substance Use Conference, in conjunction with the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand

Friday March 3 (Full day program) and Saturday March 4, 2023 (Half Day) at Crowne Plaza, Melbourne.

This conference would be invaluable to social workers, nurses, midwives, youth and support staff working with families impacted by drug use.
Substance use problems in pregnancy and parenting are an enduring dilemma, made all the more difficult with pandemic restrictions. In addition, rapid changes in the types of drugs used in the community creates challenges to practical care for many vulnerable parents and children.
Topics addressed in this conference include:

  1. The long-term impact of prenatal substance use on the child
  2. Novel treatments and care models for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families
  3. The origins of intergenerational substance use
  4. Discussion on the new types of substances of importance, including medicinal cannabis and psychotropic agents.
